Transforming Aircraft Logbooks and Elevate Mechanic Job Searches
As an AMT, you know the pain of dealing with paper logbooks. I’m Kyle, an aircraft mechanic and the creator of NovemberNiner.com, the AMT logbook app. I built the first maintainer-focused logbook app because I was fed up with the old-school way of tracking work and certifications. Plus, finding mechanic jobs without solid proof of your skills felt like trying to safety wire upside down with your eyes closed. Let me share why I created the N9 App, what makes it tick, and where it’s headed.
Why Paper Logbooks Just Don’t Cut It
When I started as an AMT, I quickly realized that paper logbooks were a hassle. They were bulky, easy to lose, and a nightmare to organize. Every time I needed to prove my experience or check my certifications, I had to dig through stacks of pages or, worse, photocopies that were hard to read. It slowed me down and made job hunting tougher than it needed to be.
Employers want numbers and proof. Saying “I’ve done this many inspections” or “I’m certified for that” doesn’t carry much weight without solid documentation. I wanted a way to back up my skills with clear, easy-to-access data. That’s where the idea for NovemberNiner came from: an app that makes logging work simple and shows your qualifications clearly.
Keeping It Simple but Powerful: Core Features of NovemberNiner
As someone who builds apps and works on aircraft, I knew the solution had to be straightforward. You won't spend more than a few seconds fiddling with software; there's actual work that needs to get done. Here’s what I focused on:
Easy-to-Use AMT Logbook
The heart of NovemberNiner is the AMT logbook. I built this app on Adalo's app building platform to provide a high level of security and robust structure that has exceptional uptime and reliability.
The app lets you quickly log your work with just a few taps. No more scribbling in cramped spaces or worrying about illegible handwriting. You can track everything from routine maintenance to complex repairs. The app organizes your entries so you can find them instantly.
Certificate Tracking That Keeps You Current
Staying on top of certifications is crucial for any A&P or AMT. The app tracks your certificates and alerts you when renewals are coming up. No more guessing or last-minute scrambling. This feature helps you avoid downtime and keeps you ready for any job opportunity.
Handy Tools Like Quick References and Calculations
I built in tools I use every day, like quick references for terms and useful knowledge, as well as handy calculators. Whether you need to familiarize yourself with the extension torque calculations or calculate weight and balance, these tools save time and reduce errors.
Simple stuff to start with, but with your feedback, we'll improve this toolset to be a true mechanic assistant.
What’s Next for NovemberNiner

By summer, I'll have the app in both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. I’m also working on some exciting features to make the app even better. While I’ll share more details soon, expect improvements that will help you connect with employers, showcase your skills, and manage your career more easily. My goal is to keep making NovemberNiner the go-to app for aircraft mechanics and AMTs everywhere.
Why Join?
It's FREE—for now. It will be for the foreseeable future, but to keep everything up and running, a paid tier will probably be part of the plan at some point.
Thanks to everybody already logging hours on NovemberNiner! Send any and all feedback my way!
